This is a very simple wall mount bracket to install. The construction is simple and easy to understand. The built in bubble-level is a very nice touch. I have a Samsung 40" LCD hanging on mine. Does the job nicely at a very nice price.

Samsung LN46A550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Review

Samsung LN46A550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

First things first, I ordered this TV directly from Amazon and within a few days the price dropped and Amazon refunded the difference. Awesome! Amazon's White Glove delivery service delivered as promised and was OK to deal with; no issues at all. So for those of you wondering whether it is better to spend a few hundred bucks to order this set from a brick and mortar store; keep your money in your pocket and order from Amazon.
As for the TV, I am not a video expert type, but I do research big ticket items thoroughly before buying. This set and the previous generations received great reviews. However, I was torn between plasma and LCD. Being a big sports fan (lots of fast moving action on the screen) I had been leaning towards plasma. But the reviews of this set and the benefits of LCD over plasma (lighter, uses less energy, no risk of burn in and better for well lit rooms) made me make the plunge.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied. This is my first HDTV and I am using Directv HD service and the picture is outstanding. It is sharp, bright and overall beautiful. The only issue I have, which I was worried about with the LCDs, is that I do notice some pixelation when scenes move very fast (Thus 4 instead of 5 stars). However, it is not distracting but I do notice it.
The speakers are not as bad as some of the reviews would indicate. You just need to set the equalizer to the right settings. I have a home theatre set up so this is not a big issue, but to some it is so I thought I would comment on them.
The set looks great, is easy to set up and I am very, very, very happy with my purchase. Especially at this price. With my extra money I was able to buy a nice stand for the Samsung.
I hope this helps.

I've been wanting a new flat-panel TV for some time and, though I do make a lot of purchases on-line, I felt like I actually needed to look at a TV in person. My wife and I were looking at the TV's in Wal-mart when another customer pointed out that the better TVs had a higher contrast ratio and he thought that was the most important factor. Sure enough, the one we thought had the best picture was the one with the highest contrast ratio - it was 3200:1, the best 32-inch in the store. (I really wanted something with 1080p resolution, but they only had 720p in the 32" size TVs. We decided to get that one, since we had seen it and felt like we could enjoy it - but they didn't have one in stock...
I came home and began to research. It turns out that there are only a very few 1080p TVs in the 32" model, this being one of them. In looking at the contrast ratio I found that this one was rated at 15,000:1 - almost 5 times better than the best one at Walmart. (High contrast ratio seems to give you darker darks and whiter whites - lower contrast ratios have a milky looking gray where it's supposed to be black...) My research combined with what I saw in the store gave me the confidence to purchase a TV on-line. I settled on the Samsung LN32A550.
The TV arrived in good working order and I had it set up and running within 30 minutes. (The biggest problem was unhooking and moving the old one!) The picture is everything I could have imagined it would be - far better than anything I saw in the store. The crystal clear picture and crisp, well defined images make this simply the best picture I have ever seen on a TV. I saw a bit of a NASCAR race on this unit and the motion was unbelievably smooth - no after images at all.
I debated a bit on giving this unit a five-star rating. I felt like the picture quality so outrated the sound that I had to bump it up a bit. But if sound is an issue you may want to consider this to be a "four-star" unit. While the TV has a built in equalizer function (with some presets based on your listening preferences) I found the sound, even in the best adjustment leaves a lot to be desired. It has a tinny sound much like you would expect from an old transitor radio. I would suggest investing in a good pair of external speakers to enhance this unit. (If you already have a home theatre set-up sound is not an issue anyway...)
So far I'm glad I made this purchase. If Samsung can improve the speakers on this TV they will have the perfect TV!
*****
UPDATE:
OK.... Now that I've owned this thing a few months I'll tell you how it's going:
First, it was pointed out to me in a post that the contrast ratio on 27- and 32-inch TV's was 15,000:1 instead of 30,000:1 as I incorrectly surmissed from the somewhat unclear (to me) product update. I have edited the initial review to reflect the correct information. I'm sorry for any confusion it may have caused. (If you want the higher ratio and have the room, you could consider going with a larger screen size. 15,000: is still a pretty amazing ratio though...)
Overall I am happy to report that I am just as satisfied today as I was the day I first turned it on. I did purchase a set of Creative GigaWorks T40 Premium 2.0 Speakers (available at Amazon.com) for around $125 - and this dramatically improved my viewing experience. (I'm sure the best option would be to use a home theatre set-up - but this unit is in my bedroom...)
I still recommend this TV - just don't expect too much out of the sound - without a little help.

I am not a handyman. I was a-feared. Can I do it. I paid 1200 dollars for this TV. Am I going to destroy it? Luckly, instillation was easy. I installed two tv's with this device and the sense of accomplishment still hasn't left me. I am very proud of this purchase. I give this product three thumbs up. I have been looking at HDTV's a lot lately and finally came to the conclusion that I wanted an lcd. I thought that would make things a lot easier but there are so many choices. I started with a Westinginghouse 40" with a built-in dvd player. I didn't think it was too bad so I tried it out for about 25 days through my retailer's 30 day return policy. As I got down to the final days, I began doing some more research and found that the Samsung's were rated fairly high for performance. Wow, what a difference! With the Westinghouse I figured that I was going to have to settle for a so-so analog off-air picture on any lcd but boy, was I wrong. The Samsung LN-S4041D is a fantastic set and I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind paying a little more for a whole lot more! I really struggled with spending that kind of money until I tried the Samsung out and now I am more than satisfied! Great set!

If you're just entering the HD arena and don't want to break the bank on your first flat-screen television, the entry-level 40-inch Samsung LNS4041D LCD TV is a great fit for your budget and it offers many of the same video processing features as its higher end 51- and 52-Series siblings. It features an integrated HDTV tuner, 10-bit video processor, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio for smooth, vibrant pictures. It also includes dual HDMI inputs for simultaneous signal transfer of audio and video from digital devices and PC connectivity. The dual purpose pedestal stand can also be used as an articulating wall mount when it\'s folded back. Additionally, the stand can be removed for wall-mounting via optional VESA compatible hardware (such as Samsung wall mounting kit WMTL4001).
The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.
The LNS4041D features a stunning 3000:1 contrast ratio, 500 cd/m2 brightness rating (for brighter whites, deeper blacks, and every shade in between), a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution (for a widescreen 16:9 screen aspect ratio), 170-degree viewing angle, and a super-fast 8ms (millisecond) response time, which minimizes blurring of moving images and is especially helpful for sports and action movies. Other convenience features include:
Picture-in-picture (PIP) enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video or PC sources.
Built-in image scaler to handle inputs from a variety of digital and analog audio/video sources.
Parental Control (V-Chip) helps parents monitor what their children watch on TV by establishing rating limits.
Auto volume leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.
Multi-lingual on-screen displays in English, Spanish or French.

High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the speakers built into the sides of the TV. SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass. It produces 10 watts of power per channel (for 20 watts total) and offers the following connection options:
Composite (RCA audio/video): 2 inputs (1 on the side)
S-Video: 2 inputs (1 on the side)
Component (Y/Pb/Pr): 1 input
HDMI: 2 inputs
PC: 1 D-Sub15 input
RF: 2 inputs
Sound monitor output: 1
Digital optical audio ouput: 1
Headphone: 1
RS232 port: 1

Tech Talk HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).
TruSurround XT audio adds three new audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

The TV looked great, but quickly we noticed that any sound on the HDMI ports were delayed by about half a second. I contact LG support and they acknowledged that it needed the "lip sync" upgrade and told me someone locally would be in contact within 7-10 business days to schedule a repair. We're now 15 business days after that date and no local contact. I contact LG again, they apologized but said it would be processed within another 10-14 business days. I will post an update if/when this fix is installed and whether it truly fixes the issue. I'm not sure how a company continutes to ship a TV this expensive with a fault that obvious.
My recommendation is to find an alternative at this point due to poor support.

Premier Mounts PCM-MS2 Universal Tilting Flat Panel Mount For 37-Inch?61-Inch LCD/Plasma Displays Review

Premier Mounts PCM-MS2 Universal Tilting Flat Panel Mount For 37-Inch61-Inch LCD/Plasma Displays
Average Reviews:

This mount has two main advantages over some: 1) the ability to have some side to side offset in case your framing does not line up exactly with the center lines of the mount; 2) multiple mounting points some distance apart making the attachment very solid. The fact that the are two mounting pieces causes no real extra work, there is a template included that makes aligning the two pieces almost trivial. In my case I figured out where I needed the bottom plate, mounted it, set the template on top, set the top plate on top of the template, marked the holes, mounted the top piece and everything lined up perfectly.
Two slight problems stop this from getting a perfect score: 1) the bolt mounting slots in the plates are a little restrictive, I could have used about an inch more play to get everything perfectly lined up (my studs are way off the relative center point). 2) it's a little hard to get the locking screws into the mount once you have your TV mounted to the wall, screws with allen heads and a long allen key (as on some other designs) would make this easier.

We purchased this black wall mount bracket from Amazon, to use with our new Panasonic 50 inch plasma screen TV. Local stores wanted twice as much for the same thing.
Even though it was purchased through an Amazon vendor and not eligible for prime shipping, the cost was still half off local vendor prices.
And of course it's what we needed to mount our new TV on the wall. Everything was included. and the TV is mounted on the wall as planned.
As usual - Amazon and its vendors are wonderful!

Westinghouse SK-32H240S 32-Inch LCD HDTV Review

Westinghouse SK-32H240S 32-Inch LCD HDTV

(More customer reviews)
I scored my 32" Westinghouse LCD HDTV at my local Best Buy. It was on sale for $599, plus the guy getting it for me accidentally brought me an open box, so it came out to about $529 after tax. I got an absolutely CRAZY deal, I would have been more than willing to pay full price for this TV.
One thing that I really like about this TV are the avaliable hook ups. It two HDMI has two composite hookups (pretty much the standard thing for most DVD players and video game systems) and two component hookups (pretty much a high definition hook up, I use it for video games, it looks super clear) as well as an RF adapter for the antenna , and if you have an old video game system like a SNES in my case, you can hook that up through the RF too.
Another thing I really like is that it has an audio out. You can hook up external speakers, and it also allows you to select the internal speakers, external speakers, or BOTH. Both is something I really wanted, because I can get better surround sound with the use of both the internal speakers, and my external stereo speakers. Though the internal speakers aren't bad, and certainly do their job, external speakers will ALWAYS sound better. :P
For actually using the TV, I purchased a HD antenna, which ran about $60. When I was in the process of setting the TV up, I plugged it in and it automatically turned on, so BEFORE I plugged the antenna in, I flipped through a few channels, they were all pretty clear, though the intenna did help a TINY bit, I think something cheaper would have done just as well.
The LCD is nice and crisp, on HD broadcasted TV stations and video games (both S-video and Comp.) everything looked like it was real and was super crisp. Overall I have absolutely no complaints, and I am very pleased with this product.

Sharp Aquos LC37D43U 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

Sharp Aquos LC37D43U 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a college student with Xbox 360, I was looking to get into high definition without spending over a thousand dollars. At the time (last fall), this limited me to a 32" LCD, most of which were still significantly over my budget at brick-and-mortar electronics stores. I knew I wouldn't be buying Sony (too overpriced) and I refused to buy a brand like Vizio or Olevia because you get what you pay for, despite what owners claim. After doing about a half year of online and in-store research, I had narrowed my search down to Samsung and LG 32" LCDs, preferring the more expensive Samsung. I then decided to play the waiting game for prices to drop within my range. This year, though, using Amazon user reviews and AVS Forums as sources, I had to throw the new Sharp in with my prospective choices. About two months ago, a wholesale store had a sale on the 37" set that fell exactly at my price limit and I decided to pull the trigger.
I've used the set now for two months and I'm convinced that I made an excellent decision. Aesthetically, this television is beautiful and it is surprising how tiny the bezel seems. I'm still not used to the size of this thing, especially because I had been set on a 32" and I lived in a dorm room. I think that 37" is about as big as I could have gone because of viewing distance. I was worried about the fact that there were only two component and two HDMI inputs, but my amplified over-the-air antenna plugged into the coaxial jack and the digital HD broadcasts were phenomenal, with surround sound, too (Durham, NC area). If your cable provider feeds digital channels without a converter box, this set has a QAM tuner to pick those up, too, along with the mandated ATSC tuner and NTSC as well. At home right now for the summer I've got it hooked up to a Verizon FiOS set top box via HDMI and, with some adjustment, the picture is spectacular. Gaming with Xbox 360 is perfect, with vibrant colors and no perceived lag due to the 6ms response time - I couldn't be happier with that. Black levels are where this set really shines, and they look truly black, which has historically been the dealbreaker with LCD panels. With this Aquos, I get deep blacks without having ANY worries about burn-in, no matter how much plasma tech has progressed, one of my big concerns with the 360 and sports scores, etc. Standard definition is surprisingly good on the "Smart Stretch" setting, but it varies by channel. At 4:3, it is very comparable to a CRT, at least to my eyes. This is an LCD and it will look grainy/pixelated at times compared to hi-def stuff, but that's the nature of the beast.
I do have a few issues with the television. Like the Sharps have been known to do for years, there was a bit of a factory "red-push" that resulted in pinkish skin tones, but again, some tweaking fixed that. One issue I found annoying was the OPC backlight adjustment that dimmed or brightened the screen immediately after changing channels or going between commercials. Even on the "off" setting, this occurs, but turning it on and decreasing the range to 1 eliminated the problem. One widespread problem that I saw in my research is a sort of "popping" noise from the expansion of the TV casing as it heats and cools from turning on and off. I did experience occasional loud popping for the first couple weeks, but it had no impact on my experience and that sound has now completely disappeared. The speakers are fine for watching the news or a program on the Discovery Channel, but they really distort the low frequencies, even at a medium volume. Of course, these manufacturers have to assume that people who buy LCDs or plasmas have some kind of audio setup. There's no headphone jack, which I missed sorely because I couldn't watch television while my roommate was sleeping. At the same time, this TV isn't designed for anyone to sit sufficiently close for headphones, so it's understandable. I do have my desktop PC hooked up to the Aquos through the "PC Input" (RGB VGA), and it works well for playing video, especially HD, and viewing pictures. Be aware that by default, the TV is set to receive 1280x768 (which looks a little off) from the PC instead of its native 1360x768, so you'll have to change it in the menu; I can't figure out the reasoning behind that. Don't expect to be able to use it as a primary computer monitor - you'll have to upgrade to 1080p for that. Still, for video, I'm convinced that at 37" from regular viewing distance, 1080p is not discernible from 720p and therefore not worth the extra money. For example, 1080p on 52" has the same number of pixels per square inch as does 720p on 37".
Overall, this set is fantastic for my needs as a college student and gamer, especially for the price I got it for. I could not be more pleased with the quality of HD programming, but make sure that at least a good chunk of your viewing will be in HD. With the 1080p version getting to be only a couple hundred more expensive than this one, I feel that I might have some buyer's remorse because of the PC display difference. Buyers should know that because of how big retail stores split their video signal to multiple displays and the lack of fine tuning, what you see may not be what you get. This TV admittedly did not look good in the store, but once I got it home, I couldn't imagine taking it back. Despite its flaws, my satisfaction is undoubtedly five out of five.

I bought this tv about a week ago and have been really pleased. I previously had a 37" sharp 720p 60hz, and did not like it at all. Well after much research I had narrowed it down the Samsung LN46B750. Only problem is that tv is $1500+ dollars. So I wanted another choice and researched and for the price and quality, this Vizio is a no brainer. This XVT is Vizio's best model other than their new 55" LED.
Appearance: It looks really nice. Simple, clean, black and silver. Some people hate that the vizio light will stay orange when the tv turns off but its not really noticeable and doesn't bother me at all.
Sound: Definitely better than my old Sharp, but still nothing to write home about. I have some really nice Logitech 2.1 speakers I use if i'm really wanting the theatre experience but the built in speakers are fine.
Picture quality: This is where I was a HUGE stickler. I wanted at least 120hz, 1080p, and 4ms response time as I'm a gamer. Well this tv has all of those and even goes to 240 with the scanning backlight. The smooth motion when enabled (recommended low) is a little jarring at first, but you quickly get used to it. Not only does smooth motion help with blur, it seems to just make the entire image on screen more crisp whether its moving or not. Very pleased. Watching Dexter on showtime hd was AMAZING! The detail in the intro is just jaw dropping. And this is only in 1080i. Xbox 360 really shows how crisp it can really get. I thought Dexter details were amazing, I hadn't seen nothing until I popped in Modern Warfare 2. Its a sight to be seen. The smooth motion works beautifully on videogames. No problems with blurring at all. Very rarely will there be any judder problems and even when you see a hiccup its for like 1 second, my wife never notices it. Hopefully getting a PS3 soon and check out blurays. But if the other content is any indication of what to expect, it will be great. I just can't imagine it getting any better. We'll see.
Cons: As with all tv's there are always some quirks. I did notice the faintest of flash lighting at the top of the screen in a tiny small area. This is a problem with MANY LCD tvs and is really only noticeable when the screen is completely black, even then its barely noticeable. I only notice it cause I set out looking for these things. Compared to the flash lighting and clouding I've seen on some tvs, this one if by far and away one of the better. DO NOT at all let this problem scare you as all tv's are different and some may not have it at all. PLUS most tvs need 50-100 hours of break in time to fully get everything warmed up so most likely it will fade. Even still my wife can't see what I'm talking about lol.
Conclusion: For the price and quality, bar none the best deal you are gonna find for a while. I was able to snag mine at SAMS for $997. 360 & PS3 users, you will not be disappointed. Will update after I've had it for a while! UPDATE: 12/28/2009
Well I got a PS3 for christmas and got to see if blurays were any better than hd cable I had been viewing. I have to admit it looks incredible and does indeed look better. I got my wife the Harry Potter bluray collection, and we popped them in, absolutely CRYSTAL CLEAR. Sharp as can be, great colors. So yes, it did indeed get better than I thought. The tv handled the bluray beautifully with its motion and the colors looked dead on.
Also the flashlighting I mentioned earlier in my review has subsided quite a bit and I have to really set there and stare at the blank screen to even be able to see it, so that is good news as well.
Once again I 100% recommend this TV! Thanks for reading and hope I was a bit helpful in your search.

I purchased this product on Black Friday as an early Christmas gift. It's my first flat panel HD TV. I bought it on the specs, the Philips name and the price.
Set up was a snap. It took longer to get it out of the box than to get it operational. The remote is intuitive. The on screen menus are simple and straightforward.
For me coming from a traditional TV, the picture is outstanding. Colors are rich and lush. The blacks are black. The detail is amazing. You can see the pores on news anchors' skin. The screen is viewable from multiple angles.
Speakers are hidden within the unit's case. Sound quality is excellent.
Setting up other devices (DVD player, game console) was simple. It has more connectors than I expect I'll need (at least for now).
This unit provides a lot of value.

I researched the purchase of this TV for over six months- far more than I ever researched even a vehicle purchase. I've had it for approx 2 weeks now and am very impressed. I was originally planning to purchase the 44in model but eventually changed my mind and purchased the 52 in model.
The only feature I was worried about not having was the 120 hz. I went to an electronics store and viewed both 60 and 120 hz side by side and could not tell the difference- the 60 hz is plenty fast for me.
Many people complained about the sound quality of last year's model. Unfortunately I have no pertinent information to add here as I am utilizing a surround sound system.
You will not regret purchasing this TV

I bought this along with my brand new Samsung 46" LCD TV and are loving both!
I installed this in around a half hour with the help of my brother, and some sub-par instructions. I advise having the help of someone knowledgeable with these things, or just hire a professional.
This thing is heavier than it looks, and structurally can support the weight of my TV and them some, which is what you want if you're talking about swinging out an $1500 LCD TV from the wall. The manufacturer gives you mounting screws for literally every last conceivable type of flat screen, as well as a set of really deep wall mounting screws.
The included HDMI cable and screen cleaner have been very useful as well.
For the price, it doesn't get any better than this. A buddy of mine recently paid double for virtually the same thing.

Samsung LNT3253H 32-Inch LCD HDTV Review

Samsung LNT3253H 32-Inch LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm not an expert reviewer but a reasonably knowledgeable electronics consumer. Here are my observations from a week's use of the LNT3253H. I won't repeat the specifications and the like that you can find most anywhere. I suspect that some of what I say is applicable to other panel sizes in the 2007 53 series.
A successor to last year's popular 51 series, the 53 is really more of an updated version of 2006's highly rated LNS3296 with a little more contrast and one more HDMI port and a USB port. (I was told by Samsung customer service, 1-800-726-7864, that the successors to the latter line will be 1080p.)
PROS
Sharp picture with vibrant color in HD. Subjectively: when viewing HD feeds in the showroom, the 2006 version of the Sony Bravia XBR has better picture processing than this model, and the 2007 Toshiba Regza is comparable to the LNT3253.
Very high quality panel with no dead pixels. It is said that Sony and Samsung LCD panels come from the same Samsung plant. My set was manufactured (probably assembled) in Mexico.
Uses the desirable Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) according to Samsung customer service.
Nice contrast; I was told by many people, though, that dynamic contrast has a bit of marketing hype to it so just don't buy an LCD model because the dynamic contrast is slightly better than a competitor's. Sony avoids talking about it and their Bravia sets produce excellent pictures.
2 RF inputs, one for antenna and the other for cable/satellite. Competitors I've seen don't have that feature in their 2007 32" sets.
Digital tuner is high quality; very sensitive. Let me clarify that the digital ATSC tuner will receive analog NTSC signals. That's not entirely clear from the product specs, and competitors usually indicate their tuners are ATSC/NTSC/QAM. This HDTV does all of that.
Remote is logical and easy to use; better than the 2007 Regza's (I didn't compare it to the Sony's). Nice that the Samsung recognizes input sources and allows one button scrolling through connected ones rather than having to go to a menu. Don't know if source labeling or picture settings by source are available.
Audio: pretty typical, meaning not superb but adequate.
For the most part, a well-engineered and elegant set with nice touches, like unobtrusive function buttons in the front (some other manufacturers like Sharp and Toshiba just don't get it that some sets will go into tight spaces like cabinets; they put the on-board function buttons on the top or side of the unit--how inconvenient).
CONS
The single pedestal stand is a nice piece of engineering but could not be securely fastened to the set I purchased, so it was wobbly and, worse, made the set noticeably sag to one side. I checked two other display units in electronics stores and discovered that they did wobble. Other 32" sets from Sony, Sharp, and Toshiba, while not capable of turning on their pedestals, are solidly anchored. I don't know whether it's a design or manufacturing flaw -- or both.
720p resolution, 8 ms response time, and 10-bit processing. Most experts seem to think there's really no discernable difference in 32" sets between 720p and 1080p at typical viewing distances of 8 to 10 feet. I disagree; there is a difference to my eyes. Eight ms response is good, but 6 ms is better for action scenes. Samsung touts 10-bit processing on last year's 96 series models, but not on this one (which Samsung customer service confirmed to me it has). Perhaps that's because competitors are upping the ante with 14-bit and better processing.
Blacks are not as black as they should be on this set, and most annoying, there is some residual image on occasion. The test: MGM's lion logo goes immediately to black for about a second before a program begins. On my 19" Samsung Synchmaster LCD, the black stays black after the logo disappears. Same thing on my 12 year-old Panasonic direct-view (CRT) 32" set. Not so on this set; a residual reverse image of the MGM logo lingers on the black screen.
Legacy analog from over-the-air analog broadcasting and VCR is substantially lower quality than on my analog set. I know that Samsung claims its engine helps make analog pictures look sharper, and they do when DNIe is turned on, but they're still disappointing when compared to a quality analog set. (Digital broadcasts and DVDs are fine; I use the excellent Sony DVP-NS75H upscaling DVD player.)
An audio nit: My old Panasonic TV allowed control of the sound level output and muting of the home theater receiver from its remote. This set's remote does not do that, requiring the use of the receiver's remote for volume control and muting. The Samsung's is supposed to be universal, though, and might be programmed to do so. Another nit: Muting is not 100% complete. There was slight sound leakage in all muting situations (both from the remote and "internal muting") on my set. It seemed like Lilliputians had taken up residence inside the set.
NOTES
You can turn off the obtrusive (to me) bottom blue light if desired from the menu.
Samsung has some info on their website about the unit, including the product manual (very nice--why can't competitors do something this simple and helpful?).
The power cord is detachable from the set (yes!). It's three-pronged, with a grounding prong (reflects Samsung's monitor heritage?).
A brief note about size for those of you changing from old-style analog direct-view sets to an LCD like this. A 32" analog set is a 4:3 ratio set; while a 32" HDTV LCD set is "widescreen" at the theater-like 16:9 ratio. What this means in practice is: on your old analog set some DVDs and broadcast HDTV programs are centered on the set with black bars at the top and bottom (some DVD players will allow you to "zoom" and crop the picture to fill up the set, but you lose program's side action). They should fit just fine in your new LCD, though. Analog content that fills up the screen of your old analog 32" set is centered with black bars at the sides on your new LCD set. In effect, with older content, it's like watching a program on a 26" set, not a 32" set, according to the experts. I hope this isn't too confusing. The bottom line for me: when replacing a 32" analog set, think about going to a larger 37" or 40" LCD set if your budget and shelving can manage it.
I discovered that my AmEx and Master Charge extend the in-home parts and labor service warranty for an additional year; my Visa does not, so it might be a good idea to check with your credit card company prior to purchase.
There were a few issues with the LNT3253H that surfaced during the week that I owned it. I strongly recommend thoroughly previewing (kicking the tires, as it were and checking your preferences) this or any other large screen TV before buying it from any online retailer (BTW, it seems that most of them will not accept returns). You may wish to check with Amazon customer service to find out exactly what the return and refusal policies are, since, as many of you know, once you hit the "buy" button you may get the dreaded "your order is being processed, you can't make any changes" message if you change your mind.
The set and box are not heavy and can be handled reasonably well by one person.

Offering an unparalleled sleek design and one of the best 720p LCD panels available, Samsung's 2007 model LNT3253H 32-inch flat-panel LCD HDTV is an updated successor the super popular 2006 model LNS3251D. Compared to the previous year's model this one offers an updated cosmetic design, a better contrast ratio at 8000:1, hidden speakers, side A/V inputs, and 2 HDMI connections.
High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the speakers built into the TV. SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass through hidden side speakers. TruSurround XT audio adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
