This TV is 120Hz...the info contained in the review about 60Hz is incorrect. I bought this TV elsewhere on Black Friday and cannot be more pleased with the image and overall quality of this LG. This television litterally makes almost everything you watch on it appear to be happening right in front of you. I original bought 4 other televisions on BF (a 26" Vizio LED, a Toshiba 40" LCD and a Samsung 46" LCD) and this had the best picture quality of them all...so much so that I returned the other two larger TVs. The Toshiba had a brighter picture but couldn't match the "right there" look of the LG. The Samsung had a nice picture quality but the backlight couldn't bring up the details as well as the LG in darker scenes, but overall it had an excellent picture. In the end though the LG won based on the eveness of the color. So to summarize...2 of these LGs and a 26" Vizio LED later (ironically the LG remote works for this TV and vice versa - LG probably makes the panel and tuner for Vizio)...I couldn't be happier!

Vizio VO370M 37" LCD TV 1080p HDTV Review

Vizio VO370M 37 LCD TV 1080p HDTV
Average Reviews:

I'm editing this review on January 12, 2010. I originally gave this TV a 4 star review, although it's very slow on startup. I figured, for the price I could live with that, because the picture quality was good, and I had no other problems with the set.
Well, that's over. I'm glad I haven't discarded the box this TV came in. This morning, it earned itself a return trip to Costco. After a few minutes of use, the picture fades to black! Audio continues, and I've checked that this is not a malfunction of the cable box, but of the TV. The picture returns either (a) on its own after a few minutes, or (b) when I hit the "guide" button on the TV remote. Thank goodness for Costco's reasonable return policies. I certainly got a dud. Slow at startup, I could live with. But not spontaneous "fade to black and then return to life" picture!
I will still consider buying a Vizio, as I've had great performance for more than a year, from another model VIzio LCD HDTV, and it's been a reliable brand for friends of mine for longer than that. But I'm certainly going to continue my habit of not tossing out the box right after buying a big ticket electronic item!

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 32-Inch LCD TV, Black Review

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 32-Inch LCD TV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here's my simple review of this Sony TV.
General outline of features:
1080p resolution
Picture adjustments
Audio adjustments (synthetic surround sound, bass, treble)
USB device support
HDMI x4
ECO-friendly options (power save level I and II)
Ambient sensor
The picture quality is outstanding, there are numerous adjustments to make the picture look the way you want. Other adjustments include audio and settings for features. Full HD 1080p only makes it look even better. Sony advertises this TV with the "ambient" sensor that detects the lighting situation in your room so that it adjusts the backlight of the TV to compensate. I did some tests with the sensor on or off and it didn't make that much of a difference but the ambient sensor does work, it will decrease the backlight of the TV if you're in a dark room (or at night) and increase it if the room is lit up. Features also included with this TV is the ability to play music, photos and videos from a USB device which is great but I don't see myself using it. The thing that stands out with this TV set is its design. It looks like a piece of art once you remove the packaging materials. There are an influx of ports and connections on the rear and side. Component, composite, HDMI, Audio, VGA, you name it, it will have most likely have it.
My only two minor gripes about this TV is that the tuning is responsiveness of the TV's menu and tuning is fairly slow. It's not slow to the point where it bothers you but I'd say from the moment you push the channel up button on the remote until the time it actually displays the picture is around 2-3 seconds. It's not bad but its a minor gripe of mines. Another gripe I have about this TV is the price. It's certainly on the costly side for this class of TV but I believe it makes up for it in the design aspect. So if you're willing to spend a little more money to get a TV that actually looks great, this TV is a good choice.
Overall, this TV is great for the person who is willing to spend a little more money to get something that looks great without sacrificing picture quality.

Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV, Black Gloss Review

Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV, Black Gloss

EDIT 12/14/2010: I've now had this HDTV for almost a month and I feel compelled to update my review because the picture quality is absolutely remarkable! From the first, I changed the "Pic Mode" to "Movie" and made no other picture adjustment. The apparent depth is just stunning -- as close to 3D as I've seen in a non-3D television. This is particularly noticeable when I switch from watching one of my other HDTVs to this one. With this "Movie" setting, black levels are very intense for movie viewing. But it was watching the football game on Sunday that was so stunning. Realistic is the only word for it.
Otherwise, everything I said previously holds and I won't make any other updates unless some problem should come up.
EDIT 11/12/2010: This review is updated 5 days after purchase. My initial "r:" will appear where I added later comments. I recommend you also read the comments for this review and the comment I made to another reviewer ( http://www.amazon.com/review/RN9YJSLNGTBBF/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003XU6D6Y&nodeID=&tag=&linkCode=#wasThisHelpful ). I'm doing this because I am extremely satisfied with this TV and believe it deserves careful consideration whether on sale or list price. My "4 star" review is based on my experience with large (37 - 53 inch) HDTVs at all feature levels. If considering this TV only against other HDTV of the 37 or 40 inch size and at this lowest feature level for standard brands, I would say this is a "5 star" HDTV. r: updated 11/20/10
I was able to get this TV at Best Buy as an "early Black Friday" offer for $400. At that price, this is a fantastic deal. I was also able to stand and compare the video image side by side from very close up (2 ft) with the Sony KDL40EX500 and EX400, the Toshiba 40E200U, and a Panasonic TCL37D2 -- frankly, it was like looking at virtual copies except the Soney EX500 had a SLIGHTLY better image (less edge flicker on football players in motion). Without brand names, you couldn't tell one from the other whether they were turned on or off (they all had a similar matte screen finish). Keep in mind that these TVs were all set in the store to a very hot, bright picture. On the audio side, they all sounded decent with none standing out as "better" (in the showroom at least). With that comparison, it was easy for me to choose to save more than $100 and buy the Toshiba 40FT1U. (The little information I could actually find about the 40FT1U says that it is basically the same as the Toshiba 40E299U but with only 3 HDMI connectors instead of 4.)
Getting it home, assembled (very simple and well-engineered 4 bolt base assembly) and connected (using HDMI), I wasn't disappointed at all by the product when in the quiet and soft natural (window) lighting of my bedroom. The tv has 5 "Pic Modes" with the mysterious names (probably the typical Toshiba names) of Sport, Standard, Movie, PC and Preference (I think this one is customizable). These are really brightness/contrast alternatives with Sport too bright for me -- Movie turned out to be my preferred mode and seems to provide real deep black levels. The audio is clear (w/o much low end), offers plenty of volume and has a really good surround synthesizer.
r: My one real regret about this supposedly "low-end" tv is that Toshiba (like most manufactures with their low-end tvs) does not provide any audio outputs that would allow me to easily plug in some better speakers or a headphone (since this is a bedroom tv for us). They do provide optical digital audio out for a receiver or peramp for use with a sound system.
The menus are pretty clear and easy to move through, but offer far more alternatives than are covered in the manual (r: for a complete manual, see below). Some are not immediately obvious to me and I'll have to explore the Toshiba site just to see what they mean. All in all with only a couple hours experience, I'm very happy with this HDTV and would recommend it even at it's normal price. I'll try to add more after I've had it a while.
r: I did just find a detailed Operators Manual in the Customer Support section of the Toshiba product site. It covers all controls, I/O and menu functions.
r: My main purpose for the edit is to say how, after 5 days and now having finished setting this TV up with full DirecTV Whole-Home capability and spending some time watching familiar programming, my wife and I are absolutely awed by what we got for $400. This tv picture quality is at least comparable to our Sony 37" and 53" rear projection LCDs (3 and 5 years old respectively) and I think the black level is better. DirecTV recognizes the tv as 1080p and properly displays 1080p content. I watch a lot of sports and both football and basketball games are beautifully displayed. The TV handles all lighting levels (from near dark to our bright sunlit windows) without needing any adjustment. Our viewing distance is about 10 feet and the 40" display provides a theater-like view. I have NO regrets (despite the lack of analog audio outs). The only question that remains is reliability -- will it work without problems for the next many years -- only time can tell, but there is no reason to suspect an issue. And at $400, the risk is small.
Here's the published "features":

This TV is quite impressive, especially for the money. There are plenty of inputs, many of which are conveniently located on the side of the panel. As far as the picture goes, the color is fantastic, and the contrast is pretty good as well. Where this TV falls short is the uneven back-lighting. In a low light setting watching a dark scene, you can see portions of the screen are brighter than others, which can be annoying at best and distracting at worst. Aside from that, I have no complaints with the television. Were money no object, I'm sure the Proscan would rate lower, however the value you get out of this TV for the price is hard to match. It is a very fine budget LCD HDTV.

Panasonic TC-L42U22 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Review

Panasonic TC-L42U22 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

Overall:
I've had this set for a few months now. Despite the little criticisms I have, I think this set is an excellent value and the picture is breathtaking with a 1080p source or even 1080i over-the-air.
Picture:
It's a great display and I have no complaint at all with the picture. It has presets for adjusting the picture and that is a nice feature; I use 'cinema' most of the time.
Chassis:
The chassis is a very elegant piano black and looks nice when it is off. This is actually kind of important when you get a TV this large!
Sound:
The speakers are not great, but they are adequate. They are in the back so you (at least I) need to turn them up more than you would for front facing ones.
Inputs / Outputs:
This is where the 'not legacy friendly' gripe I have shows up, and costs Panasonic a star. The only audio _output_ is a digital optical output. If you have a stereo with a corresponding digital optical input, you're all set. However, I'm willing to bet many if not most homes don't have such an input. This means that you must use the so-so speakers when you use the antenna or an HDMI source that doesn't have an analog audio output (including perhaps some digital cable boxes). It isn't too big a deal for me since movie watching is usually via a DVD player and I run its (analog) audio output through my stereo and it sounds great. However, it would have been EASY for Panasonic to have a legacy analog audio output. On the input side, there is no S-video input. I get why they didn't put this in; S-video is on its way out. However, I have a legacy video camera with S-video output and it would've been nice to use it.
I've used the SD card input and it is slick. They have a way to let you quickly start a slide show of all the pictures in the camera and even navigate around on the SD card directory. It was nicely done and when you see pictures from an SLR camera brought out to a 42" display the 'WOW' factor is pretty high.
I've also used the DB15 connector for the laptop and it worked fine. Be aware, if you want to use your laptop to stream video to this set, you will need a long VGA cable AND a long audio cable. I found a combo cable on Amazon (both the video and the male-male audio cable on one 15' cable) that worked great.
Remote:
The remote is okay, but the buttons are quite close together so it is actually easy to press the wrong button when you do certain tasks. The one I hit most often is VIERA TOOLS when I meant to hit INPUT. I don't have anything that supports the VIERA standard (other than the tv) so I never want the VIERA TOOLS, but I do want to change the input fairly often. The two buttons are right on top of one another and the VIERA TOOLS button is like 3x the size of the INPUT button.
One thing I liked about the remote was a special "sub menu" button that lets you quickly get to things like the signal strength meter. I get my HDTV signals off an antenna so I use the meter a good bit and it is nice not to have it buried under sub-menus. Another cute feature on the remote is the favorite button. You can program several favorite channels and get to them via this short cut.
There are R G B Y buttons on the remote but get this: THEY DON'T TWEAK THE PICTURE. They are used for special functions. Uh, how about using F1 F2 F3 F4 for labels and color code those? Otherwise everyone in the world will think these buttons are for picture adjustment.
I really liked the INFO button; it shows you whether you're looking at 720p or 1080i or whatever and if the show is a digital source the name of the show, etc. The FORMAT button lets you force 4:3 and has a few different 16:9 flavors that are nice to have.

I am very happy with the purchase and the TV was delivered promptly and works very well. Nice picture and sound and a great deal for a 37" 1080p flat panel. And as always my experience with Amazon has been tremendous.
My only issue is that the promotional information on Amazon and every other site that sells this set (VA370M) claims that it is 15000:1 contrast ratio. However, if you check Vizio's site it states that it is only 6500:1. When the set arrived I checked the manual and sure enough it is only 6500:1 with DCR turned on and 1300:1 on normal viewing. This is a huge difference from the internet specs from sellers of this unit.
Just wanted to give a heads up to all considering the tv. Still a good deal, but at least know the true specs.

VIZIO E320VP 32-Inch LED LCD HDTV, Black Review

VIZIO E320VP 32-Inch LED LCD HDTV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow, LED LCD provides a fantastic picture. This set replaced a 26" Vizio that I thought had a great picture. The LED picture is much better and brighter. One thing that is not readily apparent is the power supply.
Most televisions have a transformer on the inside that converts 115v or 220v to 12v, this TV uses an external 12v converter/power supply and the 12 v plugs into the back of the set. This might make it easier to install in an RV or other camping/water option. The power supply is about the same size as a Laptop Power Supply.
Sound is a bit of a problem. It is somewhere between as good to superior to many other televisions, but it is NOT real surround and does not have a sub woofer, so...
Set up: Opened the box, laud TV on bed, took down old TV, swapped out the mount, and had the new set operating within 20 min. Setup was also easy and fast. Weight does not seem that big a deal at first, but this set's weight is slightly LESS than the 26" we replaced, another plus for mobile mounting.
If you are wall mounting, be careful to follow the steps to remove the stand neck. Instructions say, "Remove the four (4) screws holding the stand neck, and then remove the neck and base." Well, only two screws are readily visible. The step BEFORE this reads, "Remove the cover on the stand neck," which exposes the other two screws. Removing this cover can be tricky so look first and then proceed with caution.
We use this TV as our second set and it is in the master bedroom. I am so impressed that I may replace the main TV before too much longer with the big brother of this set.
Overall this TV is well worth the price I paid and Amazon had the best price of any place I checked. I usually spend an inordinate time pricing things prior to purchase and Amazon was well below everyone this time.

Average Reviews:

I bought mine from Buydig when they had it for $399.99 with a coupon code and free shipping last month. I am using it as a computer monitor and as a secondary TV at home. Instead of writing in paragraph, I will just enumerate the things I wanted to say...
As a Computer Monitor:
1. It has a native mode, but it will leave about an inch of space/border, from the side and 1/2 inch on the top and bottom. The quality is super crisp! Just like a CRT (with 1080p PC mode on)!
2. Natural mode will stretch it out and leave about a 1/4 inch on each side. and it's still pretty crisp.
3. There is an option in this tv called 1080p PC mode, which makes the letters very crisp and clear. You will need to enable it to make the letters not look distorted or fuzzy.
4. To get to the 1080p computer mode, go to menu > picture settings > noise reduction > turn on 1080p PC mode.
5. by default, it is extremely bright as a computer monitor, so lessen the back light.
6. NO DEAD PIXELS!!!!!
7. Using the 15-pin computer plug, max resolution possible is 1360x 768, and instead of native mode, it has a dot by dot mode (which is essentially native mode.)dot by dot mode will leave a hefty border on the tv which is about 3 inch on the top and bottom and about 5 inches per side. Although the text is as clear as it any CRTs out there, losing about 40% of your monitor's real estate isn't that great. Also in PC ode, you can't change the picture settings.
8. I have been able to use audio over HDMI using an ATI card (4670)
9. To avoid screen tearing when playing PC games, make sure v-sync is turned on your PC.
As a TV:
1. switching through channels is painless, not like some other brands that I've tried, this takes less than a second to load to the other channel. There is a slight delay when switching through HDMI and cable or HDMI to another HDMI which is only about a second.
2. very crisp picture and superb colors. The black levels are one of the best I've seen. and this is coming from a former plasma TV user.
3. The sound is pretty decent. Don't expect heavy bass. no tv has that. that's what home theatre set ups are for.
4. The remote is solid, not fancy. no problems picking up the signal.
5. has a usb port that can play music and pictures.
6. NO DEAD PIXELS!!!!!!
7. I have my Dynalight function off so I can't comment on it.
Power consumption (using a P3 Watt meter)
off
>1 W (about .3 W for me)
on Sports mode (torch mode)
~95 W
on Standard
~59 W
on movie mode
~55 W
on PC mode (using the 15 pin VGA)
~54 W
on preference (it seems to be on Sports mode by default)
~95 W
As I've said, it is very bright to use as a computer monitor so what I did was I went on movie mode and customized it by putting contrast and brightness @ 50 and put the backlight @ 0 (yes I put it @ ZERO!) if it's too dark for you put it around backlight 10.
With backlight at zero, the Power Consumption is @ 36 W. Backlight @ 10 is about 43 W.
The unit on standard mode, is a little warm to the touch when you feel the back panel but it doesn't heat up the room at all.
I haven't tested it on input lag but from what I can see, it's pretty good. Game mode helps a lot.
EDIT!!!
being an ATI user, never had the chance to test this TV with an NVidia card. It seems with Nvidia, native mode works perfectly, with all the TV's screen real estate being used. on other modes though, the NVidia chip was actually a little big since the display also had the overscan. It seems ATI chips natively shrink their TV output.

It provides a number of convenient home entertainment options and key picture quality features, including DynaLight dynamic backlight control for deeper black levels and four HDMI digital inputs for simple high quality connection to cable/satellite boxes, DVD players and more. Plus, the HDMI ports feature fast InstaPort switching for quick changes from one source to another.
With the Gaming Mode function, you'll experience reduced game control delay and improved reaction time--perfect for PC gaming--and the Photo Frame capability with Auto Slide Show enables you to display slideshows of your favorite images when not watching TV programming.
Boasting a slimming tapered bezel and attractive front panel gradation, the new Horizon design creates a more modern, elegant appearance that also adds a subtle luminance to the logo to further its stylish appeal. Other features include MP3 playback via the integrated USB port, a PC input, and a removable stand.

Key Features
1080p HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels)
60Hz screen refresh rate
CineSpeed LCD panel with a fast response speed necessary for cleaner high-action home theater images. A wide viewing angle ensures that you'll have the best seat in the house.
DynaLight Backlight Control utilizes advanced image processing to monitor the brightness of each video frame, and adjust the backlight intensity accordingly. This precision creates seamless transitions with deep blacks for increased detail and depth analysis.
Photo Frame capability allows this HDTV to act as both a TV and a digital photo frame. You can showcase your favorite memories as a clear, crisp slide show on the high-resolution television screen--all controlled with just the TV remote.
Gaming Mode takes the gaming experience to a new level by reducing game control delay, thus giving the player improved reaction time and a more realistic playing experience. This is great when used with popular gaming consoles, or with PC games using the TVs PC Input.
Built-in ATSC/NTSC/QAM digital tuning allows for tuning of standard cable channels as well as off-air digital broadcasts, in addition to digital "cable-in-the-clear" broadcasts.
Native Mode restores the size of the picture by the 3-5 percent that is generally lost during the normal over-scanning that occurs on traditional sets.
Cinema Mode 24 fps (3:2 Pulldown): This HDTV performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture.
Color Temperature Control enables you to adjust white balance to achieve the best television picture possible in any viewing environment, or simply adjust the picture to suit your personal tastes. The "Warm" setting delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit room, while "Medium" and "Cool" provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased.
Three TheaterWide modes are ideal for displaying HDTV signals as well as enhanced for widescreen television DVDs.

TheaterWide 1: Letterboxed image is digitally expanded 33 percent horizontally and vertically. Useful for reproducing Academy Standard (1.85:1) formatted software.
TheaterWide 2: Letterboxed image is expanded 33 percent horizontally and 42 percent vertically. Particularly of use when viewing narrow letterboxed images originally filmed in Panavision or CinemaScope.
TheaterWide 3: Letterboxed image is expanded 33 percent horizontally and 24 percent vertically. Can be utilized when displaying letterboxed images that incorporate narrow bands at the top and bottom of the picture.

MP3 audio and JPEG image playback via USB port on the side.
REGZA-LINK (HDMI-CEC) allows peripheral AV devices such as a DVD player to be controlled by the remote control.
InstaPort fast HDMI switching between A/V components: Typically, when you switch HDMI inputs, there can be a five or six second delay. With InstaPort, as soon as you select an HDMI source, it will connect in a fraction of the time.
Bottom-mounted invisible speakers integrated into stylish Horizon bezel design (20 Watts total power; 10W + 10W).
Channel Browser allows you to easily scan through the last 32 channels you have viewed, with screen images for the last five channels displayed, by channel, by favorites, and by input, at the touch of a button.
Channel Labeling allows you to put station call letters on the screen along with the station numbers, so you always know what channel you're watching
Input labeling enables you to name the individual inputs to denote usage, such as "DVD Player" (instead of having them display as just "HDMI 1" and "HDMI 2").
Removable stand for wall mounting (200mm x 200mm VESA mounting pattern)
Tri-lingual onscreen menu (English, French, Spanish)

We had this TV for one month, we bough it here at Amazon.com
As the title for this review indicates, this TV set is an excellent value for the money.
Picture Quality
I will start with the picture quality, we got this set connected to a Dish Network HD satellite receiver and the detail is very good for 1080i picture, and depending on the channel since not all Hi Def channels provide the same quality material, this TV does not disappoints, for example, HD Theater and Discovery Channel, 2 of our favorite channels, provide some of the best HD material in the programing choices, the pictures is quite amazing on this quality broadcasts among others... Now with a Sony Blu Ray player connected via HDMI, playing some reference material such as "The Fifth Element Remastered" Blu Ray, the picture detail is simply as good as it gets... The colors are accurate, bright and natural looking, the blacks are deep and give a great look to the overall picture.
I also appreciate the HDMI jack in the left side of the TV, I use this to hook up my HD camcorder to review our footage prior to editing on my computer, this side HDMI connections makes it easy to connect anything from camcorders to Gaming Consoles etc without having to reach around the back.
The picture adjustments with the remote are very easy to navigate through after getting yourself familiar with it, one quick word here about the remote, the remote has quite a narrow beam, this means that if you are close to the TV (from lets 4 feet or less, as I was while setting it up for the first time) you must aim the remote at the infrared eye which is in the lower left of the TV, this is less of an inconvenience when you watching the TV at recommended distance of around 9 feet, at this distance the beam has a chance to spread and just aiming it in the general direction of the TV does the job. With that said, the Menu is well laid out and intuitive.
The Sound Quality.
This is the weak point of this TV, the default sound settings produce a less than desirable sound from anything you have your set tuned in to, however, if you go into the Audio Settings you can somewhat alleviate this by going in the Equalizer Advanced adjustments, there are 5 adjustment bars there of 120KHZ, 500KHZ, 15KHZ, 5KHZ and 10KHZ, in there what I did was to tune down the 10KHZ to minus 8, the 5KHZ to minus 12 (the lowest setting), the 15KHZ to minus 7 and then maxed up the remaining 2 on the left which are the bass settings, by doing this it diminishes the very high treble sounding small speakers that come with the set and this settings gives an overall fair sound for general TV viewing. Now for movies we have a dedicated 5.1 sound system connected via Optical Cable from the Vizio Optical Sound output jack, this works beautiful :) I had considered subtracting a star from the 5 given because of the sound, but after adjusting the default sound settings the sound is fairly adequate for general viewing so I left all 5 stars in there.
The remote.
As mentioned in the Picture Quality paragraph, the beam is very narrow on the remote, but this is only an issue if you are very close to the TV, if so you will need to aim the remote directly at the infrared eye on the lower left corner of the set, I was sitting very close while doing initial adjustments and that is how I came about to notice this, but once done, the viewing distance from our bed is about 12 feet or so, at this distance the remote operates just fine.
It is a fairy comfortable remote with a good layout of the buttons, it is glossy black, it does not have back light illumination, not a big deal to me, but one thing I wish it had was an "Sleep" button, since it is in our bedroom and when you get that sleepy feeling it would be nice to have easy access button to this feature without entering the menu, which is what you need to do to set up the "Sleep" feature. Again, not a reason to subtract a star from the rating, the remote does its job well, perhaps Vizio will add a dedicated "Sleep" button in future sets.
Power Consumption.
This set shines here again, I connected it to my "Kill-A-Watt" meter and depending on your picture settings, it can variate from 30 Watts to 100 Watts of power consumption, my set with my preferred settings uses 50 Watts of power, I have the backlight set at 45, this is a very bright set so a higher backlight setting is not really needed, but then that is a personal preference. On stand by, this set uses less than 1 watt, this is a highly energy efficient set.
Final words.
We are very happy with our purchase, I consider this some of my best spent entertainment dollars, great deal from Amazon, great TV set, well packaged and saving money also on the electric bill, if you need a TV set on this size range, you should definitively consider this Vizio, you will not be disappointed.

This TV is Great! Picked it up at SAMS Club for 578.00. This thing pretty much set itself up without too many commands from me. We have basic cable with what we thought were only a few channels available but, when we plugged the Vizio in, it automatically scanned for veiwable channels and now we have about 10 more channels than we had before. If your looking for a good looking, affordable, easy to use TV, this is it! The menus are pretty easy to use and actually make sense. Also, in most menus there is a reset option in case you get lost and can't remember what you changed. We also have the Bose 321 system with HDMI (wich looks amazing) and Roku (netflix) with HDMI and pretty soon the PS3 with HDMI. It just so happens there are 3 conveniantly placed HDMI inputs on the TV. Hands down, one of the best decisions I've made in a while

I guess I'll break the ice and be the first to review this TV.
I searched for a decent 37" TV at a reasonable price and looked at several different brands. I almost bought a Vizio because of the price, but then I found this Toshiba for less than 600$. Here is what I can say about it so far:
This TV has a very good picture especially on the Directv hi-def channels. It has some interesting features that I have not yet used such as:
the ability to play picture files (like a giant digital photo frame, and
the ability to play MUSIC files, like a giant Mp3 player.
When I press the "mute" (to mute the sound)button, it will mute half way, then another press of the button mutes the sound completely.
It has a computer terminal for connecting a PC.
It has 4 HDMI inputs.
The reason I gave this TV 4 stars is the viewing angles--like most LCDs, you need to sit almost directly in front of the screen. If you try and watch it too far off to one side, the colors get a bit washed out.
For an auxillary TV, this one fits the bill. My home theatre TV is a 50" plasma, and that TV blows this one away. But if you just want a fairly large TV for everyday watching and not the whole "home theatre" experience, you will be pleased with this unit. I think Toshiba is a decent brand and most of the reviews on other Toshiba models have been pretty good.
