JVC AV-36D302 36" TV Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I bought this set after extensively researching and comparing it to non-1080i Sony, Hitachi, and Panasonic 36" tvs, regular and flat screen. I am completely satisfied with the picture, sound, and features. The skin tones and blacks are outstanding, and the sound convincing. In the stores watching the high-definition sample programming, I slightly preferred the flat screens, but felt that they just weren't worth the considerable extra cost. Now that I have this tv at home, I find that I do not miss whatever it was that I thought I saw in the flat screens. The Sony name was not worth the extra cost, and this set offered slightly better features than the Hitachi and Panasonic. I thought hard about an hdtv but decided to wait until all format and broadcast issues were resolved and the price dropped below four figures.

JVC's AV-36D302 delivers a superb video value built on quality hardware and a dark-tinted picture tube for minimizing glare during DVD playback--a use for which the set was designed.
Video Features This television features a three-line digital comb filter, which enhances resolution by removing the blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl. With compatible DVD players and satellite receivers, this set's component-video output provides 800 lines of resolution to maximize picture quality.
Audio Features The AV-36D302 features JVC's Hyper Surround effect, which simulates surround sound from the set's two 4-watt speakers. Multiple inputs accommodate everything from DVD player and VCR to camcorder and gaming console. Two composite-video inputs grace the front and rear panels (one input each), and a single component-video input is located at the rear. Three stereo analog audio inputs accompany the video inputs, and MTS stereo decoding is included.
Other Features The set also offers V-Chip parental control, multifunction and sleep timers, trilingual onscreen menus, and an illuminated, multibrand remote control compatible with most DVD players, VCRs, satellite receivers, and cable boxes.
