Great picture with both high def and standard def pictures. The set offers a lot of filtering and processing options to take a low quality standard def signal and make it look pretty decent. If you watch a lot of SD TV, this would make a good set. Sound quality is better than I had expected. Extensive features and options. IPS panel, which is the arguably the best type of LCD panel. I LOVE the glossy screen, it looks much better than the waxy appearance of matte screens. Reflections haven't been a problem for me. Remote and menus work well.
Cons:
No analog audio out. Has 2 composite inputs but only 1 component input, which doesn't make much sense since the composite inputs are outdated and look terrible. Would have liked to see those two numbers reversed. But my biggest complaint with this TV is the poor screen uniformity in dark scenes. Sometimes called "flashlighting" or "clouding", this set has it, and it is distracting during dark scenes. You can turn down the backlight level to reduce this effect, but it wont completely go away. This problem is caused by the "new and improved" LED edge lighting.
Conclusion:
This TV would be nearly perfect, if it wasn't for the poor screen uniformity with black screens. Im only taking one star off for this though, since the problem isn't visible with full screen programs and can be partially cured by lowering the backlight level. Also, I did some research and its not just a problem with this TV, apparent nearly EVERY LED edge lit LCD has screen uniformity/flashlighting problems. Panasonic should have stuck with CCFL or Full Array LED backlighting.
